As a gardener, there are so many tools I have, and more that I want! It can be hard to decide what you need, and will actually use!
Because of this, I have curated this list to help you decide what you need, and what might just be clutter in your beautiful gardening space.
The List – Your Must-Haves
- A watering can that fits your style – this is one thing that will NEVER be a waste. Your plants need water and always will, so investing in an aesthetic and functional watering can is a must! Finding the right one may take a little time, but it will be so worth it when you find the can that matches your style with shape, colour, and material, so take your time and browse! It is worth it!
- A gardening mat – these are SO worth it! Whether you live in an apartment or have access to a yard, it can be a pain to tote all your plants outside when you want to re-pot them without making a mess. With a gardening mat you can lay it out, and re-pot on there! That way no soil gets on your floors, and it is super easy from start to finish!
- Gardening Shears – Investing in some gardening shears is so important, especially when it comes to pruning! If you want to take a cutting, or just clean up your plant, using clean and sharp blades helps keep your plant healthy and stave off infections. I recommend finding some with a good grip so that you can cut through thick, tough stems without issue!
- Propagation station – speaking of taking cuttings, you need somewhere functional and fun to store them! Getting a mason jar, or a cute glass stand can be the perfect pretty way to display your cuttings while they grow roots – unlike what you see in the photo above. Just remember to switch out the water every few days to keep your cutting healthy! For more tips on plant propagation, check out my article; Rock Your Roots With Easy Plant Propagation!
- Shelves/Stands – Plants love light, which is why lifting them off the ground and closer to windows is a fantastic idea! Find something stylish that matches your vibe so you can be just as happy as your plants are! Decorative shelves/stands are also a great way to integrate your plants into your decor!
